Custom Morewood Makulu For Sale

I don't update this site since Devil Bear became part of Singletrack Minds.  BUT...I have another Morewood Makulu for sale.  This isn't your standard Makulu and no it's not the raw from a couple years ago (Those had a Maxle threaded rear end, this is X12).  This Makulu was welded traditionally (No smooth welds), rubbed down with scotchbrite, and powdercoated clear.  It is dead sexy.
  • Tapered 1 1/8" to 1.5" (44mmx49mm) head tube
  • 12 x 150mm rear hub spacing
  • 83mm ISCG 05 bottom bracket
  • 4.7kgs Frame Weight with Coil Shock
  • Post mount direct 160mm rear brake tab
  • 266mm x 89mm [10.5" x 3.5"] rear shock
  • 2.3:1 Leverage ratio linkage with Enduro Max bearings
  • Syntace X12 rear axle
  • CNC machined 6082 Ali replaceable derailleur hanger
  • 203mm [8"] rear wheel travel
  • Proprietary Al 6082 T6 tubeset
  • 25.4mm F & 25mm R shock hardware
"The lion of the Morewood range. The Makulu has progressive suspension for those technical sections, precise handling for corners and a rock solid look on the podium. 3 years of design progression has led to the downhill frame that many consider the industry benchmark." - Morewood Bikes

I can supply the frame with a Cane Creek Double Barrel or without.  The frame come with a full warranty although the custom finish is NOT covered.  Price is $2,300 with Cane Creek Double Barrel or $1,895 without.  Send an email to Lance(at)singletrack-minds.com for more information.

I always look forward to the Lama Cycles DH Team bikes.  They just look right.   Sporting parts from Devil Bear Racing's friends like MRP, Formula, and Cane Creek; these new race bikes are ready for podiums.

So Blue...Custom Painted Makulu!

Kyle wanted a new Makulu frame...he wanted a blue Makulu.  This year's colors did not include blue so the factory in South Africa turned out this beautiful 2013 Makulu.  For you young guns looking for extra bling, be sure to check out the Makulu etching on the Cane Creek Double BarrelKyle is the owner of the Alpine Hut in Seattle.  On the floor you can also check out a sweet Sukuma on the floor that needs an owner.

MyBikeStand.com's Project Am/Enduro Sukuma

Ian at MyBikeStand.com decided that the perfect break-in for his newly built AM/Enduro project was to enter an enduro race with a cracked collar bone.  Well, he survived...and the Sukuma?  Take a closer look at the finished project.  29lbs. 6oz.  Sweet ride Ian!  More reviews on the specific components and frame to come.  Full build overview and more photos at MyBikeStand.

2013 Morewood Kalula

The Kalula...so nice, I did it twice!  Seriously, check out the photos below of my previous Kalula builds.  My house is situated near three bike parks in Colorado.  Yes, I am blessed but you don't need to live near a resort to enjoy the Kalula's 7" of low-leverage, freeride travel.  Go big anywhere!  Run it at your favorite freeride spot, local DH track, in the park, or wherever.  Kalula means "easily" in Zulu as in how easily you will be able to attack freeride terrain.  This bike is easily my favorite Morewood model because you get on it, ride it, and never wipe the smile off your face.

The Kalula is one of three 7" models in the 2013 Morewood line-up which also includes the enduro focused Jabula and the budget minded Zama.

Beautiful Bos build.

Tapered 1 1/8” to 1.5” (44mmx49mm)         12 x 150mm rear hub spacing
Syntace X12 rear axle         83mm ISCG 05 bottom bracket
CNC machined 6082 derailleur hanger         Postmount direct 160mm rear brake tab
Shock option: Cane Creek Double Barrel         178mm [7'] rear wheel travel
241mm x 76mm [9.5' x 3'] rear shock length         Hydroformed top tube
(2.3:1) linkage with Enduro Max bearings         Custom drawn Al 6082 T6 tubeset
2010 and 2011 Kalulas...let's ride!

2013 Morewood Izimu

2013 Morewood Izimu
Name another handmade, adjustable geometry, championship winning DH bike that costs as much as an Izimu...you can't.  This is the privateer frame of choice.  2008 US National Pro Men's Championship?  2013 Australian Women's Championship?  Other Championships around the globe? Check, check, and check.

You East Coasters need to get a hold of Ben at Bunny Hop Bikes, who has become the Morewood Izimu King.  Check out some of his past Izimu builds here.

Ned's Custom Painted Makulu "Man Camp"

Ned welds titanium bike frames for a living.  When it comes to DH he turned to Morewood for a weapon.  Many of you have seen this build...but not complete.  Here it is!  Custom Makulu eye candy!
