1st junior & 2nd Place Elite for Guillaume at the French Cup Overall!

The latest from the Hutchinson United Ride Team...

Hi!

On top of racing World Cups this year, Guillaume has been racing the French Cups. This week end in Meribel was its last round, He finished 2nd Junior just behind Loic Bruni and 9th Elite.

At the overall of the french cup Guillaume brings the 1rst place in Junior and a great 2nd place in Elite, which is exceptional for a junior!

He says :  I’m stocked with that kind of results considering the I’ve done a few mistakes during the first couple of rounds. I think I had a great end of season, I hope I can do the same at World in Leogang!

Morewood DW Split-Pivot Bikes the Sukuma and Jabula

Whats in a name?  Morewood Bikes - 150mm travel Sukuma and 170mm travel Jabula
Whats in a name? At no time in the history of Morewood bikes has the name of our new models been more pertinent. The wait is over. They are here!
Sukuma |Zulu| [verb]
1.) To arise, get up.
2.) To awaken.

Jabula |Zulu| [verb]
1.) To be delighted.
2.) To rejoice.

The Sukuma which will be launched simultaneously with its 170mm counterpart, the Jabula, are our first series production frames to feature Dave Weagle’s patented Split Pivot suspension system which with the help of Dave has allowed our engineers to independently fine-tune brake, pedal and suspension characteristics. Working with Dave to focus on the positive elements we have learned from our 14 years designing single-pivot suspension frames, we have used Split Pivot’s capabilities to tap into the ride that Morewood owners and critics alike have come to love while building on the positive elements made possible by its engineering genius.

These two frame models symbolize a resurgence for the Morewood brand, a re-birth if you like, and much like the meanings behind their Zulu names Morewood is confident you will feel as excited as we are!
A word from Morewood’s Makulu, Richard Carter: “We know it’s been a long time coming, but we believe our customers deserve a high quality product and we strive to deliver on this. Those loyal customers who have been patient will no doubt appreciate the time spent ensuring these new models stand up to the reputation Morewood has carved out for itself.”

Sukuma 150mm
All Mountain - This segment in the Morewood line was previously occupied with the Shova and Mbuzi models. After a couple years hard work and development we bring the Sukuma with 150mm of travel to AM and enduro enthusiasts worldwide.

The Sukuma's optimized double chainring drivetrain, ISCG05 tabs, and direct mount derailleur give you the option to eat up trail miles with as many or as few front chainrings as you desire. The frame has been designed with weight and stiffness in mind. Carbon seatstays, internal chainstay routing, tapered headset, Split Pivot concentric rear axle with 142mm spacing, a Syntace X12 axle, custom drawn Al 6082 T6 tubeset, and a BB92 come together for a frame that weighs under 6lbs. (Medium w/Fox RP23)  The Sukuma also features Morewood's DCD (Dual Concentric Design) frame layout featuring a single bolt assembly that is used to secure both the main pivot and the lower shock mount.

The Sukuma has changed a significantly from the prototype shown in North America and that was raced by Fabien "Cous Cous" Cousinie at the Megavalanche of Reunion Island. Expect the Hutchinson UnitedRide Team to benefit from the revisions at some of this year's Megavalanche and Enduro events.

The Sukuma is available in two colors and four sizes.

JABULA 170mm

The Jabula is the third 7" travel bike in our model line. The Kalula and Zama fit the call for the ultimate mini DH and the affordable freeride bike respectively. The Jabula offers the same amount of travel with a chainline that has been optimized for a double chainring drivetrain.

The Morewood Jabula is the first Split Pivot frame to feature 170mm of travel. Now you can descend in confidence and make your way up the mountain on the same bike.

Dropper post guides and internal chainstay cable routing keep the frame clean while the carbon seatstays add clearance. The Jabula also features a Split Pivot Concentric rear axle with 142 mm hub spacing, a Syntace X12 axle, Morewood's DCD frame layout, and BB92 with ISCG05 tabs. All this on our custom drawn Al 6082 T6 tubeset and you have a stiff, pedal friendly 7" bike.
